It’s been a while I did not sew for handsome Ken. There are two reasons: First it is very challenging to sew of this doll because it is not as flexible as Barbies are, it’s hard to try clothes on, hard to take measurements and hard to dress him up. The second reason is that there is less choice in the kind of clothe to sew for Ken.
And above all this, I just found out that dimensions are different from one Ken to another.
This pants is made of thick dark blue fabric (like blue jeans). The side pocket gives it a modern style. I was very glad of the result when I was done sewing it.
You can find the white and blue shirt here.
Happy sewing!

wow you have done a great job and worked really hard on these
thanks Lyndsey! I loved the result!
oooooooooooooooooooooooooo yay! this is what I’ve been waiting for! (did I mention that my Ken pants fall down ALL the time)
You might want to change the velcro to a sew on snap.
THANK YOU for these instructions and tutorials! I have been searching high and low for some decent Ken clothes in the stores, on-line, etc or even patterns to make my own!! My daughter LOVES to dress her Ken dolls as much as her Barbies, but they just trade outfits
This will make her day – wish I’d found your site before Christmas, but luckily her b-day is in January!
Hi Michelle,
Thanks for your message, I am glad you found my website and liked the tutorials. Hopefully until January you have plenty of time to prepare a great homemade B-day present for your daughter!
I looked at your website and I love what you do, you are very talented. I am copying the link: http://shellbugdesigns.goods.officelive.com
I am adding new outfits regularly so do not hesitate to come visit Miss B. Couture often.
Happy Birthday to Theresa

I used your pattern for the pants and adapted the t-shirt and jacket patterns a bit to get this result. I am not sure if this is the real Ken but it is probably the one and only time that I will make an outfit for him. He is the most awkward model and a difficult shape and I had to scrap my first attempts at the jacket and shirt as I could not get them on. After I finished I saw an advert for a Ken groom doll in our local Target store for $15 and wondered why I was spending my time sewing when I could buy him so cheaply.
It is now back to Barbie – so much more satisfaction.

Many thanks again Miss B for your inspiration
Cheers

I agree with you Ken is very hard to use as a model. Actually I found one Ken that is much easier to use, it’s the one who can sit and bend his arms. I am currently sewing a few outfits for him. And this is much fun.
Thanks for the link and the pictures. i like the nice outfit for Ken. He is ready to get married.
Cheers!
oooh yes thos is exactly what i needed thankx now just to get my ken doll
Thank you Aubry!
Hi there, I was wondering if you or someone else actually had the pattern pieces in a PDF to scale? I’d love to try this on Ken….and also want to try reducing the pattern to fit Gary, Dawn’s boyfriend who’s only 6 1/2 inches. I was thinking if I could find a free online pants pattern for Ken I could adjust it accordingly. Thanx in advance for your help! Love & prayers, Lynda
Hi Lynda,
Unfortunately i don’t have any printed patterns. I create everything myself and do not use patterns. You can try by doing one of my tutorials and then reproduce it on paper.
