Barbie black tunic

Here is a little dress to be worn with a leggings. It is made with light cotton. I think it will be great with a lightly stretchy fabric.
Happy sewing!

Material:
-    front: 3 ¾” x  3” ( 9.5cm x 7.5cm)
-    back: 2 rectangles: 3 ¾” x 2” ( 9.5cm x 5cm)
-    Sleeves: 2 rectangles: 2 ½” x 1 ½” ( 6.5cm x 4cm)
-    Skirt: 11 ½” x 2” (27cm x 5cm)
-    Ribbon for the decoration
-    2 sew on snaps

Step 1 :
-    Sew the front and back fabric together on the shoulders
-    Then cut a little V neck on the top
-    Sew the sleeves
-    Sew a hem on the sleeves, collar and back

Step 2:
-    Sew the top together
-    Sew the skirt to the dress and gather from time to time by pleating the fabric
-    Sew again on the front so the skirt won’t move
-    Sew a hem on the skirt
-    Sew the dress on the back and sew the two sew on snaps
-    Sew the decoration – I sewed a collar with a ribbon

I want to try a similar model with a blue and white fabric for a navy outfit. I had the idea when sewing this one, the collar would be perfect for a “navy” dress or tunique :)

  4. lyndsey says:

yes you could make ken one he hasn’t had many new outfits recently oh and you can do them like the tights but only reach your ankle, shin or thigh on your legs with little bows on to give them a more mdern twist plus your daughters doll can have her very own pair of socks which would be cool.
